Job Description

POSITION:                 School Aide/School Monitor-Enrichment “Counselor” (PT) - Comsewogue

PROGRAM:               ESBOCES School Year Enrichment Program at Comsewogue UFSD, hiring for all four (4) elementary buildings.

LOCATION:               Port Jefferson Station, NY

HOURS:                     Range between 6:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. daily for morning session,

                                    Range between 2:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. daily for afternoon session

                                    Monday - Friday, September - June

 

   ***  Applicants may apply for either the morning or afternoon session depending on their availability     ***

                                   (Most shifts are two (2) hours; additional hours may be available)                                                                      

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist teachers in facilitating the homework/reading period (afternoon session)
• Coordinate and facilitate special activities and projects
• Monitor students to provide adequate supervision and a safe environment in a variety of activities and recreational areas; including following health and safety guidelines outlined by the district
• Provide on-going communication with program teacher and ESBOCES School Year Enrichment Teacher Coordinator
• May also facilitate weekly clubs or enrichment activities for additional hours (per diem)

START DATE:           September 7, 2023

SALARY:                   $16.50/hour (when school is in session)
