Job Description

POSITION:         Summer Enrichment Counselor (PT) (Bay Shore, Bayport-Blue Point, Comsewogue, and Connetquot)

ASSIGNMENT:  July 1, 2024 – August 9, 2024 (Bayport-Blue Point and Connetquot)

                           July 8, 2024 – August 16, 2024 (Bay Shore and Comsewogue)                   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports to Summer Enrichment Director
• Provides support to classroom teachers for students entering grades 1-8
• Leads student groups in structured recreational activities

 

Important to note that you MUST be in attendance on the following dates:

                                                                                Orientation:     June 28, 2024 (Bayport-Blue Point, Comsewogue, and Connetquot)

                                                                                                        July 2, 2024 (Bay Shore)

                                                                                 Program:       July 1, 2024 – August 9, 2024* (Bayport-Blue Point and Connetquot)

                                                                                                       July 8, 2024 – August 16, 2024 (Bay Shore and Comsewogue)

*Programs closed July 4, 2024 and July 5, 2024

THESE POSITIONS ARE DEPENDENT UPON STUDENT ENROLLMENT AND DISTRICT COMMITMENT FOR SUMMER SERVICES

 

START DATE:              Varies by district

SALARY RANGE:        $17.00 - $18.00/hour

Job Qualifications

• High School graduate
• Ability to create a welcoming and affirming environment for all stakeholders of the school community
• Ability to independently lead student groups in various enrichment activities
• Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
