Job Description

POSITION:              Teaching Assistants - Regional Summer High School at Bay Shore 2025

ASSIGNMENT:       July 7, 2025 – August 21, 2025

SITE/BUILDING:        Bay Shore High School                      Bay Shore Middle School

                                  155 Third Avenue                     - or -    393 Brook Avenue

                                  Bay Shore, NY  11706                          Bay Shore, NY  11706

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides additional support to the classroom teacher in order for student learning objectives and outcomes to be met by all students

• Takes direction by the classroom teacher when it comes to both instructional and classroom management needs
• Communicates with all staff, administrators, and parents/guardians when called upon to do so

Classes held:  July 7, 2025 – August 14, 2025 (Monday - Thursday)

(Program hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)

Regents Exam & Scoring Days:  August 19, 20, and 21, 2025

(Regents Exam & Scoring Day hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Final Reporting Day:  August 21, 2025

(Final Reporting Day hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)

THESE POSITIONS ARE DEPENDENT UPON STUDENT ENROLLMENT AND DISTRICT COMMITMENT FOR SUMMER SERVICES

 

START DATE:        July 7, 2025

SALARY:                $18.06/hour (requires full attendance)

• May have the opportunity to assist two (2) sections
• Regents assignments may create the opportunity for additional pay

Job Qualifications

• Appropriate NYS Certification required
