Job Description

POSITION:                 Welding Instructor (FT/PT, FTE based on enrollment, Day)

ASSIGNMENT:          Career, Technical and Adult Education

SITE/BUILDING:        Harry B. Ward Technical Center, Riverhead, NY

START DATE:                                   September 1, 2026

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY:      $59,861.00*

* Minimum starting salary rates are established per 2025-2026 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).  2026-2027 compensation rates will follow CBAs when available.

Job Qualifications

• NYS Welding 7-12 Certification or eligible for Transitional A Certification*

• For Transitional A Certification pathways, please click here

• 3-5 years of industry experience
• Nassau or Suffolk County Trade License
• Master Welder interested in teaching young people; we will help you become an educator, and you will be able to take teaching courses as you learn on the job.  Many of our teachers came from industry and learned how to be a teacher.

*Welders are eligible for certification but must commit to coursework while teaching.
