Job Description

POSITION:                 Summer School Hourly Academic Teacher (PT, Day and/or Evening)

ASSIGNMENT:          Incarcerated Education

SITE/BUILDING:        Riverhead Correctional Facility, Riverhead

                                   Yaphank Correctional Facility, Yaphank

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively engage students in the delivery of high-quality instruction that reflects the diverse backgrounds of the participants in an alternative setting
• Establish a supportive classroom environment that fosters the social-emotional learning of all students
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of all students
• Collaborate with colleagues and program partners in an integrated approach that utilizes various curriculum to create lessons aligned to current NYS learning standards

START DATE:                                   July 7, 2026

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY:      $53.72/hour (B.A.)

                                                          $57.86/hour (M.A.)

Job Qualifications

• NYS Teacher Certification (Grade 7-12) - Science or Math
• Dual certification preferred, in any combination (English, Math, Science, Special Education, TESOL)
